It’s been 4 years since I got the Louis Vuitton Damier Azur handbag, and it is still in the same condition as when I got it. That is partly because I rarely use it since it is such an occasions bag. The light colour doesn’t seem to help much either as one would be careful not to get it too dirty. This of course only contributes to not using it much.
Made in France, the handbag is not made out of leather, which is what you’d expect looking at it. While the handles are made out of leather, the rest of the bag is made out of a coated fabric that makes up the canvas for the LV handbag. There are also a few leather trimmings extending from the straps. It is incredibly easy to stain, however is one of the easier LV handbags to clean using a soft cloth dampened with soapy water.
The inside of the LV handbag is made from a nice fabric that is not easily cut by sharp objects. Pretty much any liquid you put inside the LV handbag will leave an obvious stain if it leaks or spills, largely because of the light colour. There are 2 pockets inside the bag to put your mobile phone and other accessories. Outside the bag are 2 more side compartments that are always open, which you can use to put a few more things. One of these has a tag with a product code stamped on it as a unique identifier.
There are other gold coated trims and detailing, e.g. the zipper, that make the bag pop and have just that little bit of fanciness to it.
The leather straps and trims are the most delicate parts of the handbag as they can stain from water. This means when it rains, you have to protect the bag. The exterior canvas is prone to staining from some jeans even, all the way down to magazines.
Leaving it in direct sunlight or close to some heat should be avoided like the plague otherwise you might get transfer of prints from other objects. High humidity and storage in unventilated areas are also the handbags enemies. In fact the only correct way to store it is within the pouch it came with.

Great bag for multiple purposes however I just wouldn’t put too many things in it out of a fear of over weighing it or causing it to lose shape. High maintenance would put it succinctly.
I wouldn’t have bought this bag if my mother hadn’t bought it for me as graduation/birthday present. Other girls might be different though. As a gift that cost that much, I am highly satisfied with it. That is coming from a girl that has returned some gifts for being too pricey or over priced, therefore that should speak something for the Louis Vuitton handbag.
Conclusion: Louis Vuitton
Damier Azur handbag
While it is a luxury handbag it is still quite versatile, however, still looks a bit out of place or over kill just being used to the supermarket alone. It is a perfect summer bag though because of that light colour pallet. The bag has appreciated in value of almost AU$400 over the last 4 years, so it is not an area to rush into hoping to bulk up your investment portfolio. In a collection though, that might be a different case when the bags are fewer or probably rare. If I had paid my own money for it as well, I doubt I would personally appreciate it as much. It was a good entry point into luxury bags though.
